FAQ’s

  • Salt therapy—also known as halotherapy—originated in the natural salt mines of Eastern Europe in the 1800s, when miners observed that breathing in fine salt particles seemed to improve their respiratory health and leave their skin looking clearer. Physicians began studying this effect and eventually sent patients into salt caves to experience the therapeutic benefits firsthand. As technology advanced, halotherapy was modernized through the development of halogenerators, which recreate the microclimate of these natural salt caves.

A halogenerator grinds medical‑grade sodium chloride into precise micro‑particles and disperses them into the air of the salt room. When inhaled, these dry salt particles may help absorb allergens, toxins, and other impurities from the respiratory system. This process is believed to support reduced inflammation, clearer airways, and relief for concerns such as allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD.

To maintain effectiveness, a halotherapy room is carefully controlled with specific temperature, humidity, and ventilation settings, ensuring a consistently clean and therapeutic environment.

  • Salt therapy (halotherapy) is a natural, safe wellness practice that supports respiratory health, skin vitality, and overall well‑being for adults, children, athletes, and even animals. Dry salt has antibacterial, anti‑inflammatory, and exfoliating properties that may help clear the respiratory tract, reduce irritation, and support easier breathing.

Regular sessions can assist with general respiratory hygiene by helping remove impurities, improving lung function, boosting the immune system, reducing stress, and promoting better sleep.

Many people use halotherapy to support concerns such as respiratory and skin‑related concerns, including allergies, asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinus infections, cystic fibrosis, smoker’s cough, wheezing, snoring, ear infections, cold and flu symptoms, stress and fatigue, dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis.

Although halotherapy is widely recognized as safe, it is not a medical treatment, and individuals with serious health concerns or specific conditions should consult a healthcare professional before beginning sessions.

  • Dry Salt Therapy is a completely safe, 100% natural, drug‑free, and non‑invasive wellness ritual. It is generally well‑tolerated and not known to cause side effects or health risks. If you have any questions or concerns about a medical condition or current treatment, please consult your healthcare professional before participating.

  • Dry Salt Therapy is a completely natural treatment with no known harmful side effects. Some guests may experience a slight cough, runny nose, or a mild tickle in the throat or nose. An increase in coughing can also occur as the body works to loosen and clear excess mucus from the airways. These responses are normal and simply indicate that the salt is helping to cleanse the respiratory system.

Those with very sensitive skin may notice mild temporary irritation.

  • Dry Salt Therapy is for anyone looking to support their breathing, relaxation, or overall well‑being. It’s a gentle, natural wellness experience suitable for most people of all ages.

Dry Salt Therapy is suitable for children of all ages, even as young as one month old. Kids often respond to the therapy more quickly than adults. During Family Path sessions, children are welcome to play with toys, read books, and interact with other little explorers while enjoying the benefits of salt therapy.

Many guests choose salt therapy to help with:

    • General relaxation and stress relief

    • Supporting clearer breathing

    • Easing seasonal allergies

    • Finding calm for the mind and body

    • Enhancing skin wellness

    • Complementing other self‑care routines

If someone has specific medical conditions or concerns, it’s always best for them to check with their healthcare professional beforehand.

  • Everyone responds to Dry Salt Therapy a little differently, so the ideal number of sessions depends on your personal wellness goals. Many guests feel relaxed and refreshed after just one visit, while others choose to come more regularly for ongoing support.

    • General Wellness & Relaxation

Many guests enjoy 1–2 sessions per week as part of their self‑care routine.

    • Breathing Support

Some people choose to visit a few times a week for a short period when they want more consistent respiratory support.

    • Families & Children

Kids often respond quickly, so families may come as needed or once or twice a week, depending on preference.

Because every person is unique, the best approach is to start with a few sessions and see how you feel.

If someone has a specific medical condition or concern, it’s always a good idea to check with their healthcare professional for personalized guidance.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and removing jewelry, glasses, and other personal items during your salt therapy session, as salt can be corrosive to exposed metal. While the salt won’t harm your clothing, you may notice a light dusting—especially on darker fabrics—which brushes off easily.

The room is kept cool (around 60–65°F) to mimic the environment of natural salt mines, so dressing in layers or bringing a cozy blanket can help if you’re sensitive to cooler temperatures.

For skin‑focused sessions, we suggest wearing shorts and a short‑sleeve shirt to allow the dry salt to fully contact the skin for maximum benefit.

This path is intended to be a silent retreat, offering space for stillness, calm, and quiet connection.

    • The Family Path is designed to be traveled with your little ones and enjoyed together. This interactive 30‑minute session welcomes family members of all ages to relax, visit, and experience the benefits of salt therapy in a playful, comfortable environment.

We also offer memberships and packages for guests who want to make salt therapy a regular part of their wellness routine. These options provide flexibility, savings, and the freedom to choose the Path that fits your journey. You can explore them under Pathway Packages.

  • Dry Salt Therapy is very different from consuming salt in your diet. The salt used in halotherapy is not eaten or absorbed into the bloodstream. Instead, it’s inhaled as microscopic dry particles that remain within the respiratory system and are later expelled naturally. These tiny particles help loosen mucus, reduce irritants, and support cleaner breathing—not increase sodium levels in the body.

Because of this, halotherapy is generally considered safe for most people. If someone has a specific medical condition or concern, it’s always best to consult their healthcare professional for personalized guidance.

  • Many people with high blood pressure choose to enjoy Dry Salt Therapy, as it is a gentle, non‑invasive wellness practice. The environment is calm, the salt is dry (not absorbed into the bloodstream), and the experience is generally well‑tolerated.

That said, high blood pressure is a medical condition, and everyone’s health situation is unique. Because of that, it’s always best to check with your healthcare professional if you have any concerns or if your blood pressure is not well controlled.

Salt therapy itself doesn’t raise blood pressure, but your provider can give guidance based on your personal health needs.
